HELLO.

WE GROW COLOUR was launched in Bristol in Spring 2020 by husband & wife team Sarah & Rory.

Their Micro-scale flower farm is now based in Beaminster, West Dorset

OUR VALUES

SUSTAINABLE

Having spent many years growing our own flowers, herbs & vegetables, we were inspired to start growing cut-flowers on a very small scale from our urban garden in Bristol in 2019.
In September 2021 we moved to Beaminster in West Dorset and have started growing cut flowers again on a slightly bigger scale in the wonderful new location (where Rory was born!).

Working in harmony with nature and having as little impact as possible on the planet is at the heart of our business – so organic, perma-culture, and no-dig methods of growing are used to produce our colourful flowers.

All packaging and printed material is compostable/recyclable too.

SEASONAL

Creating floral arrangements using bright, vibrant, jewel colours brings us all the joy. We grow a wide variety of flowers between April and October, drying a portion of these for our colourful dried bouquets to see us through the darker winter months.

Every one of our bouquets has a selection of herbs, which are included for their scent, colour and form. We also use these herbs at home in our own salads, medicines and teas.

Some of our absolute favourite flowers are:
Calendula, Achillea, Lavender, Snapdragon & Zinnia.

SOULFUL COMMUNITY

We want our flowers to bring connection. Not just to the seasons and to protecting our natural environment, but within our close and wider community too.

A percentage of our monthly profit goes to support organisations that work with marginalised communities, and we are working on creating deeper relationships with organisations that support refugees.

We ran our first Introduction to Floristry course in collaboration with Elsie Harp of Divina Botanica, We Are Bread and Roses and Borderlands Bristol between September 2022 and November 2022, with a cohort of 11 refugee women. This was an incredible experience and we hope to run more in 2023.
